Introducing the Teddy Tankini June 23 2014

Linerie plus Bikini equals SEXY!!

Lingerie looking swimwear has taken the beachwear industry by storm.  Bikini Mama's has incorporated that look into our Tankini Wrap.  Introducing the Teddy Tankini Wrap. Add a little modesty while also adding a whole lot of SEXY.

Our Teddy Tankini Wrap converts a bikini into a sexy tankini by simply tying it around the front or back of rib cage, under one of our bikini tops (traditional or maternity or nursing).  You now get two swimsuits in one.

Want the peek-a-boo effect, just tie it around the front.

The options don't stops there.  You can use our tankini wrap as a skirt.

Our solid tankini wrap can also be used as a nursing cover for the breastfeeding mama's out there.

Breastfeeding and Swimsuits from Bikini Mama's June 09 2014

Breastfeeding and Swimsuits

Summer time can be tricky for breastfeeding moms. The warmer weather means fewer layers and while cooler fabrics may sound like a like a great solution, it may put some breastfeeding moms in uncomfortable situations when using a traditional nursing pad.

Sadly nursing pads are not meant for swimming; you might get out of the pool with half of the water in your nursing pads! However, going sans nursing pads at the beach or pool can also be a bad idea. Thankfully, there is an easy solution to this common mama problem – LilyPadz®.

LilyPadz is the only nursing pad that can be worn in the water and is subtle enough not to show through bathing suits and tank tops. Yup, it's a waterproof nursing pad!

Unlike other nursing pads, LilyPadz don’t absorb. Instead they are made from 100% silicone and attach to the breast directly. That’s right, no bra required. The pads gently apply pressure to the nipple so that milk does not leak out or collect.

And while not worn here, they also look great under any swimsuit. We're especially fond of Bikini Mama's Pink Push Up Nursing Top Swimsuit, swimwear made especially for pregnant moms.

LilyPadz are very thin and clear, which means you can rock your bathing suit or strapless sundress without worry. When your little one gets hungry, all you have to do is peel off the LilyPadz, nurse, then reattach.

Since they can be reused for two months with proper care, you can be carefree all summer long. They are also small enough to throw into your beach bag or purse.

For most moms, a trip to the beach or pool means a whole lot of scurrying as you try to remember to pack all of the swimsuits, sunscreen, and snacks. LilyPadz are just one little thing to make life simpler and easier.

Bathing suit season is stressful enough for new mamas, so be sure to go into summer with these silicone nursing pads in hand. You can hang out by the pool in just a tank top or dive right into the water. These might even help you feel reconnected to your pre-breastfeeding days. Consider it your lactation vacation!

If you're interested in trying LilyPadz, you'll find an exclusive 16 Minute Club coupon inside Box 1 of our breastfeeding subscription box. Bikini Mama's is also offering a 15% off discount simply visiting their website.

My Baby, My Inspiration April 16 2014

I wouldn't be a momprenuer if it wasn't for my little girl.  If I had never been pregnant with my little bundle of joy, I would have never been so frustrated after shopping for maternity swimwear, thus starting my own swimwear line.

I gotta say, I was hugely disappointed with the selection of maternity swimwear out there.  I was proud of my baby bump (well definitely in the beginning months) and I wanted to show it off.  I also needed a bathing suit that would offer support and comfort, while making me feel sexy.  I found the maternity swimwear out there was out-dated and mostly one-piece or tankinis with no breast support. Well all you pregnant and breastfeeding Mamas out there know how swollen, big & engorged your breasts get during pregnancy - breast support is of huge importance.  I tried wearing my regular string bikinis and found the string around the neck was painful and extremely uncomfortable.  My breasts were just too heavy and created such pressure on the back of my neck & back.

As my bump grew, I wished I had a cute tankini look, for the days I didn't feel like showing off my bump.  I wanted a comfortable, fully adjustable bikini with a tankini option.

Well...Bikini Mama's was born.  I started designing, drawing, looking at patterns and fabrics. I was so excited to offer something I had myself been looking for.

Shortly thereafter another certain something was born.  I gave birth to my baby girl - the most amazing experience of my life.  I breastfed my little one (which also help me shed the baby weight) and living in California, was in swimsuit weather not long thereafter.   Again, everyone said to use a regular string bikini by sliding the one side over to nurse, then sliding back when finished. Well the problem with this, Moms, is the padding gets all bunched up. I'd end up having to visit the bathroom to take the whole top off and re-adjust.  What a pain in the neck.  And speaking of pains in the neck…again the neck string dug into the back of my neck, causing not only neck pain but back pain.

Back to the drawing board I went. I then incorporated a nursing option into my swimwear line.  By adding one-handed nursing clips with a supportive inner frame on the bikini tops, Moms could easily and discreetly breastfeed baby with confidence.

Anything I had been looking for during pregnancy and after, I incorporated into the Bikini Mama's swimwear line.

Our swimwear line offers…

Trendy maternity swimwear that adjusts to your evolving pregnant body

Made of comfortable, quick drying and high quality material for long term wear

Adjustable cups support and flatter the breasts; in fact, many non-pregnant women choose to wear Bikini Mamas suits for their comfort, support and good looks

Convenience of a nursing bra: strong clips can be fastened and unfastened with an easy one hand operation, for discreet nursing

Bikini tops are super supportive and easily accessible to nurse your baby

Bra never bunches when re-clipped after breastfeeding

Shoulder straps offer a wide range of adjustment to make prolonged use comfortable

Reshapes to your post-pregnancy silhouette, and can be worn as a traditional bathing suit

To complement our swimwear line, we offer a Tankini wrap that acts as a totally adjustable skirt to cover your belly or stretch marks when you might want some modesty.  The tankini wrap can also be used as a skirt or nursing cover.

Traditional line that offers all the same benefits of the maternity line, replacing nursing clips with rings on the bikini tops

Not only did my little girl, alone, make me the happiest woman in the world, but she also inspired me to help other women/Moms out there to feel comfortable in their own skin - to offer them support, comfort, ease & confidence while making them feel sexy.

My little fashionista - Following Mama's footsteps?

Convert Your Bikini Into a Tankini with Our Tankini Wrap April 11 2014

We came up with the tankini wrap with pregnant mama's in mind, so that they had the choice to wear their swimwear as a bikini or a tankini, during pregnancy and afterwards.  The whole point was to offer modesty for pregnant Mama's who weren't feeling as comfortable showing of their bellies, especially during the end of pregnancy.  It was also designed for after pregnancy to cover stretch marks or scars.  After designing the product and putting it on the market, we were so overwhelmed by the number of women buying this item.  It really is for every women out there, not just the pregnant and new moms.  It's for anyone who loves the baby doll tankini look (as it is super cute), or for those who are just looking for a bit more modesty.  I, personally, used it the other day because I was feeling bloated and didn't feel comfortable showing off my tummy.

How amazing to have the option to wear your swimsuit as a bikini or a tankini.  You decide.  It's really having two swimsuits in one.

It can also be worn as a skirt, in which we like to tie it up on the side, to keep a little thigh showing - super sexy.  And it can be used as a nursing cover for those breastfeeding Mama's out there.  Check out the options on the video below.

We're currently giving one of our tankini wraps away for free on 4/14/14 - Check out this link and follow steps for a chance to win.

Making Breastfeeding Fashionable March 23 2014

When I was breastfeeding my daughter (what feels like forever ago) I was so shocked at the limited variety of swimwear that offered a nursing option.  I was also shocked to find the swimwear that did offer the nursing option was out-dated and ill-fitting. I tried wearing my traditional string bikinis, by pulling one side over to nurse, then sliding it back into place when finished.  The only problem with this, ladies, is the padding gets all bunched up.  I'd end up having to visit the ladies room to take the whole top off to re-position and re-adjust.  So annoying.  I wanted to find a swimsuit that offered the accessibility and ease of a nursing bra that was still trendy and fashionable.  I decided to take matters into my own hands.  Bikini Mama's was born.  By adding nursing clips and cleavage enhancing features onto trendy and flattering designs, women could still feel sexy during and after pregnancy.  We also wanted to make a swimsuit that would last throughout pregnancy and beyond, that no one would be able to tell was a maternity swimsuit.  By adding adjustable straps and strings, the swimsuit adjusts to weight gain and weight loss - a maternity swimsuit that offered it all.  Finally Ladies…trendy maternity/nursing swimwear.  Rock it Moms…Be Beaufitul!

Keeping Up With Maternity Fashion Trends with these 5 Fashion Tips March 15 2014

Being pregnant is an amazing experience but adapting to an ever changing/evolving body can be challenging, especially if you want to stay fashionable.  Here are a few tips to keep you looking fun and trendy throughout your pregnancy...

1. Add a little pop of color
We tend to wear a lot of dark colors to look thinner, especially during the last 2 months of pregnancy (when we're feeling huge and can't even bend to tie our shoes LOL) but you can even add color with accessories and jewelry.  Adding a fun, bright-colored or printed scarf can do wonders.

2. Show off your assets
As we all know cleavage, during pregnancy, tends to pop along with belly, why not show that off with a scoop neck or v-neck shirt

3. Maxi Dresses
We love the maxi dress on pregnant women - so flattering and sexy.  You can also add a cute jacket to dress it up or jean jacket to dress it down.

4. Add a belt right under your breasts
This is a cute way to dress up a solid colored blouse/shirt or even a dress and show off your bump.

5. Skip the busy prints
Single-block colors or solid colors tend to make us look thinner and taller

Pregnancy is a beautiful thing - Why not show it off.
